Our mission

MyHome Physio was created through a desire to help clients understand and maximise the potential of their own body – with the comfort of health care at home.

Our philosophy is centred on an individual approach and prioritising active management over passive therapies. Our team will ensure that you are informed about your injury. You will be set up with realistic expectations for treatment outcomes, and have an active role in setting goals and determining your most appropriate treatment style.

Informed decisions and active treatment

Research shows that the best results are achieved when patients have an active role in their recovery and participate in the decision making process. We listen to our your goals and expectations, and provide you with knowledge and advice to make an informed decision.

An individual approach

Even with a clear diagnosis, we believe in an individual approach. We take the time to assess your needs, injuries, body, and lifestyle factors. We use this knowledge to create a specialised recovery plan.

Reduce costs

To ensure our treatment plans are accessible to everyone, we use minimal equipment. This philosophy reduces your costs and enables you to complete an independent rehabilitation program between sessions without needing to access a gym or purchase expensive equipment.

Strive to improve

We believe that we should continually be striving to improve our services. Our assessments and treatment solutions should evolve based on improvements in our scientific knowledge, clinical reasoning skills, exercise prescription, and outcome measures and evaluations.

We welcome feedback from you, your family, referrers or the public. Your input will further improve our ability to offer the best service possible, contact us

Active or Passive treatments

what's the difference?

Active treatments

Active management focuses on empowering our clients by teaching exercises, movements and everyday strategies to repair and rehabilitate the injury. This doesn’t mean that we are “hands off”, as we often provide some manual therapy such as assisted stretching, movement facilitation and massage to areas of the body that do not require a massage table for effective treatment.

Passive treatments

Passive therapies include massage or spinal manipulation/mobilisation performed by the physiotherapist. These therapies are where the client has little to no active role in recovery. Passive therapies focus on pain relief, and involve the use of ultrasound, heat, cold, acupuncture and massage. While this kind of therapy can provide relief for acute injuries, results are generally short lived. Active management creates long term success for long-term injuries.
